Concrete has been employed in differing manners as a construction material in building façades for some years. This great success is owed to its extraordinary functionality and formability. Yet now, the development of textile reinforced concrete has opened up a fully new vista of options for designing and shaping façade architecture. From the (energetic) renovation of public building façades to new constructions of industrial, educational or administrational buildings, prefabricated elements made of textile concrete have given proof of their value. Textile concrete components are employed with increasing frequency - for example, in curtain façades. Due to their low weight and liberty as regards the creation of colour and surface, they provide a most satisfactory, cost-effective solution both in terms of design and architecture.
